FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas junior infielder Matt Reynolds was named the SEBaseball.com Player of the Week on Monday after his performance in the Razorbacks’ three-game sweep of Villanova last weekend.

A native of Tulsa, Okla., Reynolds went 8-for-10 at the plate in the series against the Wildcats, having multiple hits in each game, including three hits in the first and third games of the series. Reynolds also scored five runs, had three RBI and stole two bases. Reynolds finished the weekend with a .846 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage.

Reynolds played a large part in the 41 runs put up by the Razorback offense during the three-game sweep of Villanova. The 41 runs are the most for Arkansas through three games since the 1997 team opened the season by scoring 60 runs in its first three games.

Along with his performance at the plate, Reynolds was also flawless in the field, handling all eight chances he had defensively.
