Upper Deck’s eighth and final USA Baseball Box Set was released on January 18th 2010. The announced print-run was 6,500 sets, a dramatic increase over last year’s limited production of 2,650 sets. Initial MSRP was approximately $85/set. At the time of release, I paid $925 for a 15-set case, which comes to roughly $62/set.  Here’s a link to the set checklist. The chase cards are obviously anything with Bryce Harper’s signature on them, but there are several players in here who should gain significant hype over the next year. Most notably, prep pitchers Karsten Whitson and Jameson Taillon, and prep sluggers Manny Machado and Brian Ragira all figure to be high draft picks in June 2010, while college sophomore pitchers  Gerrit Cole and Trevor Bauer figure to both come off the board early in June 2011…
