2007 DIAPER DANDIES STATS UPDATE

The 2007 Diaper Dandies. Criteria for inclusion is simple. We take the youngest prospect (birthday cutoff of June 25, 1987) with the highest ceiling from each MLB team and follow their progress throughout the season. We try to exclude players that we follow in other areas of the site, but sometimes it's unavoidable.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES

  • LoA Lansing’s Travis Snider is starting to emerge from the group as the premiere hitter; Snider currently holds the lead in 7 offensive categories (AVG, H, 2B, 3B, TB, SLG & OPS); but this past week, Snider was just 3-for-14 with a 2B and 2 RBI’s…

  • It’s hard to say who had the better performance this past week: LoA Lakewood’s Adrian Cardenas or AA Binghamton’s Fernando Martinez; Cardenas was 9-for-25 with a 2B, 3B, HR and 10 RBI’s; F-Mart was 13-for-34 with 4 2B’s and 3 RBI’s; Cardenas gets the nod purely for the numbers, but F-Mart is in an advanced league; you make the call…

  • Other than Cardenas, LoA Great Lakes’ Preston Mattingly was the only other batter to log a jack; it was Mattingly’s first of the year…

  • LoA West Michigan’s Gorkys Hernandez swiped a total of 6 bases this week! Overall, Hernandez has 12; Last year, he stole 20 total bases in 50 games, or about 1 every 2.5 games; he’s doing just a little better so far this year…

  • LoA Wisconsin’s Tony Butler logged 2 great innings this week versus the horrendous 2 innings from the week before; during the most recent week, Butler threw 2 IP with 2 K’s and didn’t allow a single hit; the week prior he threw 2 IP and allowed 5 earned runs on 6 hits; nice turnaround Tony…

  • LoA Kannapolis’s Justin Edwards notched 2 wins this past week; he threw a combined 12 innings allowing just 1 run on 7 hits; he fanned 3 and walked 2…

  • HiA Frederick’s Brandon Erbe notched his 3rd straight win keeping his perfect record intact (he’s 3-0 overall); Erbe logged 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run on 4 hits; he struck-out 5 and didn’t walk a batter…

  • HiA St. Lucie’s Luis Guerra got a no-decision in a 5.2 inning outing that saw him fan 7 and walk 2; he allowed 3 runs on 2 hits…
