Louisville Slugger and the National College Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) announced the 2007 Pro-Line Caps Preseason All-Americans list. 15 former Team USA baseball players received nominations, with six receiving 1st-team honors, four receiving 2nd-team honors, and five receiving 3rd-team honors. Of the 15, all but two (Matt Wieters and Joe Savery) competed with the 2006 USA National Team that won the gold in the FISU World Championships in Cuba during the summer of 2006. Matt Wieters competed in the Cape Cod Baseball League, earning the Cape's "Top Pro Prospect" award. Joe Savery took the summer off to rehab his shoulder and returns to a potent Rice line-up for his junior season.
