San
Diego State junior Stephen Strasburg suffered his first loss
of the year during SDSU’s first post-season appearance against a
Virginia squad that ultimately emerged to win the regional bracket;
Strasburg got hit early, giving up 2 runs (including a solo HR),
before settling down to post another great statline; the soon-to-be
#1 overall MLB draft pick tossed 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8
hits, striking out 15 of 30 batters faced against no walks;
Strasburg finishes his college career with one of the most
impressive seasons on record and will be reward next week with what
most say will be a draft bonus record…

15th win overall; in 9 innings of work, Leake allowed 1
run on 5 hits, striking out 15 of the 31 batters he faced while
walking 2…
·
Missouri junior Kyle Gibson was impressive in regional play,
posting his 11th win overall; Gibson pitched 8 innings,
allowing no runs on 6 hits, walking 1 and fanning 8…
·
After a disappointing season, Texas senior Preston Clark
looks to go out on a high note; Clark went 10-for-25 in regional
play with 2 HR’s, capping the regional final with a walk-off grand
slam to send the Longhorns ; ) to this week’s upcoming Super Regional…
