  • There's this other college pitcher, junior Stephen Strasburg of San Diego State, just collected his 4th straight win: 7IP, 6 hits, 2 earned runs, 1 BB, 14 K's, 26 batters...

  • Virginia sophomore Tyler Wilson quietly excelling in the middle relief role; through 5 appearances and 10 IP, he's only given up 4 hits, 0 earned runs, 1 BB, 12 K's...

  • Kyle Gibson alert! The Missouri junior was "light's out" this week, going the distance for his 1st complete game shutout on the year: 9IP, 6 hits, 0 runs, 4 BB's, 11 K's...

  • Fresno State junior Tommy Mendonca decided to double his home-run production this week, going yard 3 times (6 on the year); I may not be able to get those baseball cards to his dad as cheaply as we had discussed! (JK already... sheesh)

  • Riccio Torrez, Arizona State freshman, mashed this week: 16 AB, 11 Hits, 2 2B's, 1 3B, 1 HR, 8 RBI; turned his 0.133 AVG into 0.419; before this week, he had 2 hits all year, maybe we should get this kid some more playing time...

  • Tennessee's draft-eligible sophomore Kentrail Davis leads the group in BB to K ratio, walking 17 times compared to only 11 strikeouts; his 20 runs also leads the group...

  • The Fullerton boys had an awesome week (see Weekly Dingers below), but the standout was junior Josh Fellhauer: 14-for-21 with 3 dubs, 2 taters, 9 ribbies & 2 SB's...
