Since the release of the 2004 Bowman Draft
Picks AFLAC All-Star set, we've kept a sharp eye on the players who are
selected for this team. The 2005 set mimicked the inaugural set, but
this year collectors were thrown for a loop as the only cards
distributed of the 2006 squads could only be acquired at the actual
AFLAC game. Beckett estimates that there were less than 250 cards issued
for each player and secondary market sales (i.e. Ebay) have been very
strong for key players. Topps announced that they held some cards back
that were subsequently autographed by the players for distribution in future Topps issues.
