2004 & 2005 AFLAC All-Star Team Pro Stats

Notable performances...

  • AA Altoona’s Andrew McCutchen must have gotten tired of hearing everyone rag on him; he responded by going 6-for-24 with 3 bombs, 6 RBI’s and a SB…
  • HiA Lakeland’s Cameron Maybin has cooled off; since starting the year with 2 jacks in each of the first two weeks, he hasn’t gone yard since; this marks the third straight week of Maybin’s drought; he went 6-for-28 this past week with a triple being his only extra base hit, 0 HR’s, 0 RBI’s and 0 SB’s…
  • LoA Cedar Rapid’s P.J. Phillips turned in a very nice week; he was 8-for-19 with 2 doubles, 2 homers and 4 RBI’s; he’ll need a couple more weeks like this to get that 0.236 AVG up…
  • Probably the most well-known AFLAC’er, HiA Visalia’s Justin Upton went homer-less this week; after smacking 4 longballs in the previous week, Upton was 10-for-27 with a double, triple, 3 RBI’s and 2 SB’s this week; this was one of his WORST weeks of the year!
  • LoA Lakewood’s Kyle Drabek notched his second win of the year; in 5.1 innings of work Drabek fanned 6 and walked 3; however, he allowed 4 runs on 8 hits; he’s currently fanned 29 in 28.1 innings…
  • LoA Rome’s Beau Jones got his first save of the season; in 2 innings pitched, Jones gave up only 1 hit and rung-up 1…
  • …Jones’ teammate, Jeff Lyman, however, needs someone to save him; he lossed his 5th game of the year this past week; since starting the year 0-2, he lost the next 3 out of 5 games, earning no decisions in the two games where he didn’t take a loss; if you check out his cumulative stats, they really don’t look all that bad (not 0-5 bad anyway); he definitely didn’t perform any worse this week than HiA Jupiter’s Chris Volstad who, on the other hand, notched 2 wins this past week in a combined 8.1 innings where he allowed 5 runs on 13 hits; I guess that’s just baseball…
